Saix was originally born as a child, a boy, names Isa by his mother. There was never a father in the picture and his mother had enough to deal with without caring for him. In the end, he became an apathetic child. Isa's only friend was another little boy named Lea. Lea had an easy time slipping through his defenses and making him feel like it was okay to let his guard down. At least, that's how he felt with him.
They grew up together and eventually Lea learned the secret Isa had kept from him when they were 16--his mother was an escort. He was a bastard child and it was his biggest shame. Lea didn't think anything of it but Isa felt awkward, knowing he knew. He resumed his apathetic attitude towards everything, although he never forsake his friendship with Lea. He still would lead the way or follow after Lea. He still bailed the boy out of numerous fights. He just couldn't act the same way around him--he couldn't help but think that the way his best friend looked at him had changed. He swore that Lea felt contempt for him, thought he was better than him. It was his darkest secret and he tried everything to rid himself of the feeling.
Unfortunately, he couldn't and that was how Xemnas drew him into the darkness. He promised to get rid of that feeling for him, to make him unable to feel it ever again. He promised to restore their friendship to what it had previously been. Isa, eager to hear these words, listened to everything he had to say hungrily. Xemnas's talk of darkness and throwing his heart away was seductive. To not be able to hurt anymore, not be self-conscious of his best friend anymore. Isa wanted that. He gave into the darkness in his heart and accepted Xemnas's proposal.
And then there was no more Isa. There was only Saix.
